Under President Donald Trump’s administration in 2025, U.S. military recruitment has seen significant success, with branches like the Army meeting or surpassing their recruiting goals months ahead of schedule.
The Army, for example, signed contracts with more than 61,000 recruits—exceeding the 2025 goal by over 10% and achieving this four months early.
The Navy and Marine Corps also reported record or near-record recruitment numbers. This uptick in recruitment is partly attributed to Trump’s leadership along with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s efforts. Hegseth has increased emphasis on recruitment programs, modernized recruiting processes, and enhanced support for recruits.

Overall, the military is on track to meet or exceed its 2025 recruitment goals across all branches, reflecting a notable revival in military enlistment under Trump’s presidency.
