Sead (Seyo) Cecunjanin, a West Hartford restaurant owner and illegal immigrant with a 1997 final deportation order, was an active registered voter there from 2018 to 2023 after claiming U.S. citizenship.
The West Hartford Republican Town Committee obtained records via FOIA showing his registration came through the Connecticut DMV (motor-voter system) on or around September 28, 2018. This occurred amid Democratic claims of secure elections and defenses of him as a “pillar of the community” after his ICE detention.
