The Saluda County Republican Party (SCRP) is relatively young in terms of organizing properly through precincts. The leaders of the party are working hard to position the SCRP for effectiveness and growth. We have a lot to learn, however, and one of the ways we are attempting to educate ourselves is by visiting other Republican and Conservative organizations. By doing so, we are able to get ideas for meeting procedures, as well as speakers.
The Steel Magnolias is an Aiken County group, affiliated with the National Federation and South Carolina Federation of Republican Women. They meet in North Augusta on the second Wednesday of each month.
This past Wednesday, Amy Potts (County Chair) and Gail Meyer (State EC) attended the September meeting of the Steel Magnolias. There were two speakers. The first, Diane Davis, gave updates on the Convention of States. The second, Kendall Haley spoke about DogeSC. Kendall will be presenting on Doge SC at the SCRP meeting on October 27.
Anyone interested in more information about the Federation of Republican Women should text Amy Potts at 803-622-6002. There are two other groups near Saluda – one in Greenwood and one that meets in downtown Columbia.
