In a White House ceremony this morning, President announced that Trump Accounts are now taking effect, with contributions allowed beginning July 4, 2026, and eligible families able to open accounts for children under 18 through the federal program.
For children who qualify, the federal government is also beginning the one-time $1,000 pilot contribution tied to the program rollout. We’ve attached a simple handout to explain the basics for parents, including who may be eligible, how contributions work, and why personal contributions are not tax-deductible.
