Buckner’s Policy Positions
Duke Buckner’s public positions are centered on lower costs, smaller government, and traditional conservative social policy. He has emphasized making housing more affordable, cutting wasteful spending, reducing government’s size and regulatory burden, expanding skilled-trades training, and creating more opportunity for small businesses and workers. He also frames his campaign around fighting what he calls socialism and protecting freedom.
On specific issues, reporting and candidate listings show him opposing abortion, supporting tougher border security, backing school choice, favoring elimination of the U.S. Department of Education, supporting limits on gender-affirming care and transgender participation in women’s spaces, and opposing gun-control measures such as red-flag laws. He has also tied himself to a pro-life, pro-family, anti-waste, and pro-business agenda, with foreign-policy views that lean toward a harder line on national sovereignty and defense.
Buckner ran in the 2020 Republican Primary against Lindsey Graham and for US House against Jim Clyburn in 2022 and 2024.
