The truth about Donald Trump is very simple. Despite so many qualities that put people off, he was duly elected by the American people in 2016.
And the temper tantrums began. Which, in retrospect, is hilarious because the left has so constantly and so vigorously accused Trump of interfering with the peaceful transfer of power as they have attempted, almost nonstop, to remove him from office.
It has been exhausting.
Even after his miraculous election in 2024, when some of us thought we could finally exhale, we quickly realized we couldn’t. New tactics added to the old. Never ending. Slowing him down and stalling his agenda while we watch the clock.
With the feckless Republican Leadership in Congress, to whom we gave a majority in both Houses, it is likely that they will succeed in significantly stalling Trump’s agenda. Trump will leave office in 2029 with much work unfinished and enough of the old guard still in place to undo much of his work. And if they are right, if Trump is the one who overturned their applecart – all by himself – then they can get back to their “normal” in pretty short order with a perfect blueprint of how to thwart any other candidate we ever dare elect of whom they disapprove.
In my opinion, however, and as Trump, himself, often observed, it has never been about him. It is about us.

It began with Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorables” and evolved with every event that could be used to demonize Trump supporters. It continued in various forms, was institutionalized into DEI, and brought us to the place where Democrats feel justified to attack Republicans both physically and verbally. Including the celebrations of violent crimes against white people in general and Trump supporters in particular. And in defense of the vile criminals who perpetrate such violence.
Charlie Kirk’s murder is the clearest example of the license liberals now feel to lower themselves to such a base level of humanity.
The good news is, what liberals do can only matter if we let them wait us out.
Because it is our beliefs, our view of the America we want to live in, our deep understanding of the sacrifices our forbearers made that has given us our good lives in this country we appreciate.1 These things, inside us, are our power center.
Trump merely tapped in to our beliefs and had the balls to give them voice. OUR beliefs have been his guide stones, and those will not go away when his term is up.
We know what lies ahead. We know what we must do. We have the numbers, we have the power, but every single one of us must do something to help the “America First” part of the Republican Party. Our Saluda Party is working hard, but we need help.

- No one seems to appreciate this great country as much as Trump voters. In fact it is the sheer ingratitude on the part of Democrats that infuriates me. ↩︎
