As I begin my first term as Chair of the Saluda County GOP, and as our first regular meeting approaches, I want to give you an overview of how I hope to proceed.
My tenure is two years. In the initial months I will focus on working with our eleven Precinct Committeemen to establish an effective structure for the County Executive Committee. This will include decisions about meetings and needed officer and committee positions. Next, we need to set our goals and makes plans for how to achieve them.
Once we have a good, working group, we should turn out attention to one of our most important responsibilities: Voter Education. This will take many forms, from this website, to social media, to having as many interesting speakers as we can at meetings or special events.
Our meetings will be open to the public, and I hope to make them well worth the time spent. Toward the end of the year we will turn our attention to the upcoming midterm elections of 2026. Midterm elections generally favor the out-of-power party, but we must change this history and work tirelessly to keep our hard-won Republican majorities on every level.

Throughout everything we do we will be looking to increase our membership and discover dynamic Republican candidates for both elective and appointed offices. We will have pre-meeting social time in hopes of building strong relationships (and friendships!) with each other.
There is nothing more powerful than a group of like-minded citizens with a common cause. Hope hangs heavy in the air that we Republicans can help restore many of the fundamental, common-sense values of faith, family, and freedom to our American way of life.
Certainly, we can do much more together than any one of us can do alone.
