There were 1012 registered voters in Saluda 2 Precinct as of April 2025. of those, 257 voted in the June 2024 GOP Primary. Since precincts get 1 delegate per 25 voters in that primary, Saluda 2 had ten delegates attending the April County Convention. The County GOP Officers are then chosen by the delegates from Saluda’s 13 precincts.
At the ReOrg Meeting in March, Jim Moore was elected President and Committeeman. Tina Shealy was elected secretary of the precinct, and she helped Jim fill remaining delegate slots before the convention.

What does it mean to “Join” Your Precinct?
The official organization of The Republican Party exists on the National level (RNC), the State level (SCGOP), the County level (The Saluda County Republican Party), and the Precinct level. But it all starts on the Precinct level. You can donate money to any level or to any candidate’s for campaign, but if you want to become a decision-maker about the direction of the Republican Party itself, you must join in the precinct where you are registered to vote.
Precinct Officers, County Officers and State Officers are all elected during the ReOrg process for two-year terms. It is very worthwhile, however, to join between ReOrgs. There are like-minded friends to make and a role for everyone who has the smallest amount of time to offer. Sometimes an officer must resign, and there is an opportunity for a late-comer to fill a vacant spot.
