Pleasant Grove’s GOP Precinct Organization

President

Committeeman
Pleasant Grove Precinct had 949 registered voters as of April 2025, with 268 of them voting in the 2024 Republican Primary.
At the March 2025 ReOrg meeting, Mike Rhodas was elected President, which means he is responsible for keeping the precinct organized. Paul Gilbert was elected Committeeman, which means he represents Pleasant Grove Precinct on the County Level. Both Mike and Paul are members of the County Executive Committee, with Paul as the voting member. If Paul is absent, Mike votes for the precinct.
With 268 people from Pleasant Grove Precinct having voted in the June 2024 Republican Primary the precinct was able to choose eleven delegates to attend the May County Convention. All eleven slots were filled, and eleven Pleasant Grove votes were able to be cast at convention.

What does it mean to “Join” Your Precinct?
The official organization of The Republican Party exists on the National level (RNC), the State level (SCGOP), the County level (The Saluda County Republican Party), and the Precinct level. But it all starts on the Precinct level. You can donate money to any level or to any candidate’s for campaign, but if you want to become a decision-maker about the direction of the Republican Party itself, you must join in the precinct where you are registered to vote.
Precinct Officers, County Officers and State Officers are all elected during the ReOrg process for two-year terms. It is very worthwhile, however, to join between ReOrgs. There are like-minded friends to make and a role for everyone who has the smallest amount of time to offer. Sometimes an officer must resign, and there is an opportunity for a late-comer to fill a vacant spot.
