Residents all over South Carolina have been receiving accusations about Mark Lynch, the Senate candidate running against Lindsey Graham. They involved felony charges in regard to cocaine in 1984, and a DUI conviction in 1985.
Lynch says that in 1984 he was arrested and later pleaded guilty to a felony cocaine trafficking charge in Greenville County, when he was in his early 20s and struggling with addiction. He has described it as a “bad time” in his life and says he was “hanging out with the wrong people” and was “caught” and took responsibility by pleading guilty.
Since then, he says he received probation, paid fines, and went through drug rehab, and that this led to his Christian recovery story, meeting his wife in recovery, and later running or supporting addiction recovery ministries.
